If you want a more predictable energy bill, SDG&E has the answer – Level Pay. With Level Pay you can level out the highs and lows of your monthly bills, helping make your energy bill more stable.

Whether you use Level Pay at your home or your business, you get more predictable energy bills that can help make life a little less complicated.

How it works

Using Level Pay, you pay about the same amount each month based on your projected usage. When you first enroll, your projected energy use for the year is divided into 12 equal amounts to establish the amount you will pay each month for the first three months. Even if your energy usage goes up or down, your payment remains the same. Adjustments may be made to your payment amount every three months based on your actual energy use.

You’ll still receive a monthly bill showing the amount of energy you used and the cost of that energy usage.

Please be aware that there will be some months when you pay less than you actually used and some months when you pay more than you actually used.

How to sign-up

If you are ready to sign-up for Level Pay now, it's simple; just have your account number and meter number ready. You can find both of these numbers on your bill. Click here to sign-up on-line, or call our Express Line at 1-800-711-SDGE (7343). Either way, it takes about one week to process your Level Pay application, then the ups and downs of your energy bills will be a thing of the past.

Combining with Other Services

In addition to Level Pay, we also offer our Automatic Pay service. With Automatic Pay, your SDG&E bill will be paid automatically each month from your bank account about ten days after your monthly bill is mailed to you. You save on postage and time, plus you don't have to write a check. And you never have to worry about making a payment if you're away from home. It's a simple way to pay your bill. And it's FREE!

Simply fill out the Enrollment Form with your account and financial information. A confirmation letter will be mailed to you once you're enrolled.
